Halloween and Other Stuffs

Happy Halloween

Happy belated Halloween. Hope you had a good Halloween celebration as I did. I went to a Halloween party dressed as Daredevil. Had the red glasses, walking stick, light bruise and scratch on my face and a suit. I think it might of been the best costumes I've ever put together. That does not say a lot though because I never had any good costumes for previous Halloweens. The party was fun though. I went with family and friends and we all had a good time and drank a little too much.

I wish I could attach a photo of the stume (short for costume, reference from iCarly, I believe it is in a scene with Spencer and Jack Black) but I never take photos. I could ask for the photos that were taken to be sent over but I am just too lazy for that. Just imagine me as the man, Matthew Murdock himself.

Pumping the Brakes

I have been working on a new website. I have been working on it for quite a while now actually. I don't want to go too into detail about it but it is a website that can potentially have a pretty cool community. I started working on it on my free time but it has gotten to the point where I am working on it and thinking about it way to much. I still need to remember that this project is still just a project. There will be moments in my life where I can over invest carelessly for many different things and just let go but coding and thinking about this 24/7 and not being able to relax a single day with family or be able to chill and eat without having this project still rattling around in my head can be very draining at times. Especially if its for months at a time.

I decided to finish up a little bit more of the backend and put it on pause, in a relativily good spot as well. Then I will take a little break, get in the right head space for my overall life and for my trip I have planned this month. I am quite excited.

Now

I feel like working on this project and constantly needing to code and build the website has led me to adopt this mindset of "keep doing something, if nothing is being done, your time and value as a person is diminishing". Its weird because the whole point of this website was to just become a better programmer overall, have fun, do this on my own terms and create a dope community. Obviously there are other by products that I would like to see like a sense of accomplishment, if money can came from this that would definitely be a plus but I think the main thing I was focused on was having fun, learning, and creating something other people would find cool. Now I think this project is starting to dictate my life. In order to turn the tables around I need to chill for a bit. For a week or something. Also including the time on my trip. That should be more than suffice to clear my mind and go back in better than before.

Here are some things I plan to do that will help me relax:

That is a lot but there is a lot I want to do. We will take it day by day though.

Also a quick statement about the future. When I finish my backend or get most of it done and go back to the frontend and continue refactoring, I would like to study UI and UX very thoroughly. I am excited for that.

New Website UI

Speaking of UI, I changed how this website looks. I cut the fat and only kept what I thought was needed. I like it a lot. Obviously there will still be many changes, but I am content with how my website looks and feels and runs as of right now.

Anyways I hope Halloween was coolio for everyone. Peacingtons.
